My great photography

Welcome to my blog!

I’m Klo (much easier to say than Klodjana, right? trust me, my name looks more difficult than it really is). I’m a wife, a mom, a photographer. I’m 28.

I became a professional photographer in 2007. Not too long ago, but I’ve put everything into it. I love my job. It is probably the best job in the world!

I love food. Vacations are so only if I go to the beach on hot summer days. I speak 4 language (Albanian, Italian, English and Turkish) and have at least 4 more on my “wish list”. One day I will learn them. My (Italian) husband spoils me by cooking every night. I am a “citizen of the world” – born and raised in Albania, lived for 7 years in Italy (where I also scored the guy willing to put up with me) and currently in the Bay Area. Future plans include moving back to Milan in a few years. I wish I could live in a place with no winter. Actually, I wish I could travel the world. Literally. My English is great but I have an accent – some find it cute or funny.

In the Holiday spirit

December 16th, 2010

I’m probably a tad biased, but this kid is seriously cute! :)

And of course he decided to run towards me. God forbid this kid actually sat still for more than a few seconds.

Our other “tree” – a simple string of lights. It’s hanging in front of the house. I posted photos of our regular (although fake) tree on the little monster’s blog.

Macros with the 100mm f/2.8L

I was waiting to get a chance to test it out a little better, but for now these will have to do.

Do I love the lens? Absolutely YES!

One flower, two different shots.

A collection of random shots | Personal

December 3rd, 2010

What better time to photograph a flower than during snack break for a 10 month old girl at Monday’s family session in Palo Alto? Took it with my 50mm (I think) but tomorrow I’ll be having fun with my brand new macro lens, the 100mm f/2.8L. Can’t wait!

Took this one on the same day, in the parking lot in front of Kara’s Cupcakes (my regular stop whenever I’m in the area). I knew there was no way these beauties were gonna make it all the way home. My son and I just LOVE cupcakes… We scarfed them down shortly after.

Our (quick) lunch. Penne with tomato sauce and parmiggiano, a classic yet so delicious. Too bad we didn’t have any basil at home that day.

So peaceful.

December 1st, 2010

Are you tired of this place yet? I couldn’t resist the creamy pastel colors presented to me a little past 4pm. This is my go to spot when, after a long drive to get back home from somewhere, my son is still napping and for me it would be a total waste of time to just sit in the car parked in our driveway… So I choose a more interesting scenery to waste my time with. Sunsets at the Marina.

Remember that gorgeous sunset a few weeks ago? Well, after resorting to asking a random stranger to let me borrow his *not so good* (read: made to support only a point and shoot camera) tripod for a couple of long exposures, I got smart and decided to park my own tripod in the car. Just in case.

Great, right? So I used my tripod for this unplanned shot. Only I forgot to remove the piece of the tripod that attaches to the camera and has a quick release for convenience. I removed it later, at home… AND forgot it there! Today I had my camera, my awesome view and my tripod… with a missing a piece. Yeah, not my smartest move.

I tend to learn from my mistakes. After a while.
When I first got my hands on a DSLR (a Nikon D70) I ruined oh so many shots because my ISO was still set sky high from the night before.

Lastly, it’s December! I love this month. No, not because of the Holidays and Christmas and presents and what not. It’s my birthday month. And my husband’s birthday month. It’s one special month! We’re both turning 18, by the way. :)

I have just started working on this beautiful maternity session (among many others!) and the best has yet to come, but I couldn’t resist sharing a little tease.
