Picked this lemon off our tiny lemon tree in the backyard…

Some spider’s home…

Welcome to my blog!
I’m Klo (much easier to say than Klodjana, right? trust me, my name looks more difficult than it really is). I’m a wife, a mom, a photographer. I’m 28.
I became a professional photographer in 2007. Not too long ago, but I’ve put everything into it. I love my job. It is probably the best job in the world!
I love food. Vacations are so only if I go to the beach on hot summer days. I speak 4 language (Albanian, Italian, English and Turkish) and have at least 4 more on my “wish list”. One day I will learn them. My (Italian) husband spoils me by cooking every night. I am a “citizen of the world” – born and raised in Albania, lived for 7 years in Italy (where I also scored the guy willing to put up with me) and currently in the Bay Area. Future plans include moving back to Milan in a few years. I wish I could live in a place with no winter. Actually, I wish I could travel the world. Literally. My English is great but I have an accent – some find it cute or funny.

A new toy. Or should I say old, instead?
My husband busted this baby out of some box filled with a bunch of random things. It’s a Minox 35 GL.
The battery is dead and it’s not commonly found so we ordered some online. It should be here soon and I can’t wait to see what comes out once I get to play with it.

You might probably be wondering why I bother with these things. I never actually had the pleasure of shooting film photography – dived directly into very modern age digital photography. I’d like to challenge myself now.

Today my little guy is 11 months old. I can’t believe we are only a month away from his first birthday… WOW!
Speaking of which, now that I have sent them out and this post won’t spoil it for my guests, here are the birthday party invites.
[custom photo postage from zazzle.com]
I loved the stamps my husband ordered. Medium size works great on 4″x5.5″ envelopes – image is 1.1″x1.4″.
This party planning time is SO exciting. You would think that being almost ONE, my son is now sleeping through the night – and that I have all the time in the world to be crafty and creative. WRONG! He is most definitely NOT, thus I am one tired (wait, scratch that and put exhausted) mama. But I am still excited to lose those few hours of sleep over orange and blue paper pom poms and other decorations I’m making. The other day I uploaded an iPhone picture on my FB profile (by the way, I love the Hipstamatic app), the picture of a sewing machine. Wow, who would ever thought I’d be going to Target to get a Singer?! This first birthday party planning is making me do crazy things. Yes, you can call me Martha.
Of course, I’ll be sharing all the details… in time… I don’t want to spoil anything for my guests.
Birthday Madness | SF Bay Area Baby PhotographerJuly 9th, 2010 |
When did my baby grow from a tiny newborn to an ‘almost a toddler’? He is growing amazingly fast and here I am, trying to get everything together for his first birthday party. Our trip to Europe for 3 weeks threw me a little off the schedule (so, not only am I staying awake at night to catch up on work, but also to plan this exciting event). Anyway, I’m almost done.
The invites came in yesterday and we are waiting on the personalized stamps so that the envelopes can finally go out! [the ticker says there are only 35 days left until my son's birthday]
The party will be small. Our families cannot join us this time. After all, we just went over there so they are probably saving the trip and coming over in a few months.
I’m so excited about the cake from Studio Cake. It will be amazing! And of course, picture perfect!
The food will be delicious. More details to come.

I’ll show and tell more about the party as I start putting everything together, I promise :)
