…and probably a few more in the next days. Is this amazing, or what?

Welcome to my blog!
I’m Klo (much easier to say than Klodjana, right? trust me, my name looks more difficult than it really is). I’m a wife, a mom, a photographer. I’m 28.
I became a professional photographer in 2007. Not too long ago, but I’ve put everything into it. I love my job. It is probably the best job in the world!
I love food. Vacations are so only if I go to the beach on hot summer days. I speak 4 language (Albanian, Italian, English and Turkish) and have at least 4 more on my “wish list”. One day I will learn them. My (Italian) husband spoils me by cooking every night. I am a “citizen of the world” – born and raised in Albania, lived for 7 years in Italy (where I also scored the guy willing to put up with me) and currently in the Bay Area. Future plans include moving back to Milan in a few years. I wish I could live in a place with no winter. Actually, I wish I could travel the world. Literally. My English is great but I have an accent – some find it cute or funny.

I promise photos once it’s finished but it will be a long while as we are missing some important pieces (of furniture) and my time to sew pillow cases (which is what the fabrics are for – accent pillows) is very, very limited. Also, more fabrics will be ordered soon.

diLuNa at Keeble & Shuchat GallerySeptember 22nd, 2010 |
Over the weekend we were invited at the Opening Reception of the diLuNa Exhibit at the Keeble & Shuchat Gallery in Palo Alto. Check out their work at diluna.org and, if you are in the area, drop by the gallery and enjoy it. There is so much to see.
Aside from being great photographers (I first met them back in December, when we photographed the World March for Peace in San Francisco), Nadia and Luca are also great friends and awesome BBQ makers :)

I’m sure I got a few shots of them together as well but it was probably with their cameras, not mine. But I have this one from December. It was so cold in San Francisco that day.

These were taken after lunch at Donato.

This is my kitty, Filippo. He just turned 5 years old!
I don’t fancy myself as a pet photographer but he has actually been one of my first victims… ehm, subjects, I mean, when I first started photography. He became part of the family the same day my husband bought himself a Nikon D70 – the one I didn’t know how to turn on… Long journey since then!
I was actually trying to photograph my son, when kitty jumped in the highchair to escape the toddler that loves to squeeze animals.

Where is the summer?August 18th, 2010This year’s summer here in the Bay Area has been awful. Coming from the Mediterranean, everything under 90′s seems freezing to me. This year’s summer here in the Bay Area has been awful. Coming from the Mediterranean, everything under 90′s seems freezing to me.
Unfortunately, this year we haven’t been able to fit in a vacation somewhere warm enough to sunbathe. We were thinking Hawaii (went to Kaua’i last year and wanted to try Maui this time) but there’s always something that comes up. It’s either work, the birthday party, seeing the sleep consultant for kiddo’s sleep issues, travelling to Milan in fall for a photoshoot, following hubby to Miami for a 2-day conference after that… It’s little bits and pieces that don’t allow for 10 days free of anything to do that we can just take off to rest.
How does Christmas in Maui sound? In the meantime, I will live vicariously through last year’s memories…

My ToddlerAugust 16th, 2010Officially into his second year of life, my son is now working on running around to drive me even crazier. Life gets incredibly exciting by the day, though. Officially into his second year of life, my son is now working on running around to drive me even crazier. Life gets incredibly exciting by the day, though.

The First Birthday Party was exhausting, for him as much as for us… I’ll share more soon.
Isn’t the cake looking amazing? Check out Studio Cake. They did such a great job and it tasted even better than it looks. Here you can see the cake “on location”, right before we let the little monster play with it.
To the right, the cupcake toppers I made.

While in LA…August 8th, 2010 |
These shots are dated a few weeks back. Took them while on a trip to LA, where I met with David Giral and Melissa Biggs.
