Surprise baby for Kim | Maternity
October 19, 2009I admire people that choose to go the old fashion way and wait for the baby to be born and the doctor to announce if it’s a boy or a girl… there’s something really sweet about that :)

Tiffany was such a pleasure to work with :)
Look how perfectly round her belly is!

Can’t wait to meet little Preston… With such a beautiful mom he will be one gorgeous baby!
On a side note, I must confess that this first maternity session since I had my baby brought back a few memories. I wouldn’t trade my little guy for anything in the world but every once in a while I miss having him all to myself… Now I have to share with others.
Some images I never got around to post before. It’s a mix from different maternity portrait sessions… I have many more waiting to be edited and maybe some day I will update the bellies section on my website as well!

Why so dressy?
Why not? :)

We are very proud parents-to-be.
By the way, bets are open: will our baby BOY be brown-eyed like myself or rather blue-eyed and blond like daddy? Leave a comment, let me know what you think!

Impressive enough, Markino still fits in the wedding suit! The tie is just the latest crazy one I got him.

Something a little more casual.

All pictures of me are self-portraits and the bump you are seeing is an almost 31weeks pregnant belly (rockin’ the 8th month right now). 9 weeks to go before the baby is here…
Why self-portraits? I hate being photographed by other people. May sound crazy, but I am totally uncomfortable in front of the camera when somebody else is behind it. It’s a little harder and time-consuming but I’ve found that self-portraits are the way to go.
29 weeks down as of today. Only 11 more to go until my due date!
(for those who don’t speak “pregnancy week language”, I am 7 months pregnant and there is a little over 2 months to go)
And here we are, a family portrait:

Nothing special, I just decided to turn on one light, put the camera on the tripod and jump in front of it. The lighting I chose hides my tired face and almost gone makeup. It was the end of a tiring day… but the baby and I are doing great otherwise!
I’m still knocked up, and will be for about 15 more weeks…
Here are the most recent pictures of my bump, casual shots taken on a Saturday afternoon (thanks to my very efficient assistant/husband that took them).

Our guy (yes, it’s a baby BOY), is growing really fast and we just can’t wait until he gets here. Markino and I couldn’t possibly any more excited. The fact that the nursery is almost ready makes the anticipation even worse. And who will this baby look like? I’m SO curious…
As my energy lessens so will the amount of time I can spend updating this blog. I will continue to shoot up until late July and have already booked a few limited sessions for late August (a big challenge, since my due date is on August 7) but I will, technically, be on maternity leave for a couple of months after the baby. At least until we all get into a somehow ‘regular’ schedule pattern.
Wish me good luck… :)
Jocelyn was 36 weeks along when she came in for her maternity session some days ago. I can’t believe they are holding the surprise on the baby’s sex until delivery! Kudos! I wouldn’t be able… :)

The daddy-to-be is definitely excited. Can you tell?

Can’t wait to meet their surprise baby come May… I’m predicting a girl! :)

I had so much fun documenting Rebekah’s pregnancy today. Her bump is adorable :)

Isn’t she looking gorgeous?

Rebekah, enjoy! Your online proofs will be up soon.
Can’t wait to meet that little baby girl as soon as she is born!

I just realized that tomorrow I have a newborn session (two in a row actually, plus one on Sunday) and I haven’t even blogged the belly where this baby came from yet. I have a perfectly good explanation for being a little distracted lately, but I can’t reveal it quite yet.
I edited this pictures quickly just about now. There are many more that I would have liked to blog but haste made me pick randomly.
Blue ribbon for a boy!

Amaury says hi to his little baby brother!

I couldn’t possibly forget about this sweet little girl.

She sure knows how to pose, doesn’t she? During the rest of the time she was sitting on my lap… way too cute. Of course I got in trouble with my cat later, when he smelled ‘dog’ on me.

I’ve been asked what camera(s) I use. I don’t usually talk about my gear because I’ve never considered the relevance of mentioning it (I hate to give the speech about “it’s the photographer, not the camera, that counts” but this what I believe in). I don’t have a whole fancy set of lenses, I only use a few which to me suffice for a whatever I need to do. I shoot with a Canon 5D (I guess I never mentioned it before also because on Photolicious EXIF data is always available for every shot I publish). I’m planning on the new 5D mark II soon. That’s just about it I guess.

About videoblogging. Now that I have my new toy I have no excuses for not videoblogging, but I still have good reasons for not doing it (ok, this sounded a bit controversial). I’m thinking about a nice video to explain why I don’t videoblog, teehee. I hope I manage to do it in the near future, if I’m not too ashamed of my face. This may sound controversial too, given the amount of selfportraits I have around the web… but still frames are easier :)

I’m terribly behind with blogging my recent photoshoots. I’ll try to catch up quickly… so here is a maternity session I did a couple of weeks ago:

It’s a little baby girl!

Look at this cute little bump:
