My baby. Uhm, I mean toddler. But to me, he will always be my baby.

Welcome to my blog!
I’m Klo (much easier to say than Klodjana, right? trust me, my name looks more difficult than it really is). I’m a wife, a mom, a photographer. I’m 28.
I became a professional photographer in 2007. Not too long ago, but I’ve put everything into it. I love my job. It is probably the best job in the world!
I love food. Vacations are so only if I go to the beach on hot summer days. I speak 4 language (Albanian, Italian, English and Turkish) and have at least 4 more on my “wish list”. One day I will learn them. My (Italian) husband spoils me by cooking every night. I am a “citizen of the world” – born and raised in Albania, lived for 7 years in Italy (where I also scored the guy willing to put up with me) and currently in the Bay Area. Future plans include moving back to Milan in a few years. I wish I could live in a place with no winter. Actually, I wish I could travel the world. Literally. My English is great but I have an accent – some find it cute or funny.

Mattia: five weeks oldOctober 8th, 2010 |
Warning: very cute baby ahead. I had the pleasure of photographing him in his mom’s belly (here too) on my previous trip to Italy.
Seriously, Mattia couldn’t be any cuter! Or any more alert… in fact, he did not want to sleep at all, just laid there, posing like a pro the whole time.

And since it’s officially Halloween month, here comes the little lion.

Of course he fell asleep right when we got out for a few family portraits. It was overcast and chilly in Milan that day. It could have been worse, like those last two days when it rained non stop.

My son and I got back from our trip to Milan yesterday – I was there for work, he enjoyed time with his grandparents. Unfortunately, my luggage didn’t make it to San Francisco. Apparently, it was left in Amsterdam, where we had our connecting flight. Awesome. I just love when the stuff I most use is somewhere on the other side of the globe… including my laptop.
Since I’m writing this, it means I survived traveling alone with a toddler (the 10 hour flights were beyond challenging but I won’t go there).
I have yet to transfer all the photos I took in Italy (last night I crashed shortly before 8pm, without even having dinner – yes, jet lag does that to me), but I promise a lot of gorgeousness will be posted on this blog soon.

Expecting EsterSeptember 21st, 2010 |
Today I’m sharing some portraits of a friend, expecting her second baby, Ester. She made Noel a big brother a couple of weeks ago (so you can imagine these were taken a few months back, when I was in Albania).
Note to self: impromptu shoots with a needy preschooler and an even more needy baby (mine) who decide to steal toys from each other, cry and want to be held by their moms are not a good idea.

I love late afternoon light. Shot right before sunset (7:22pm – no, I didn’t remember the exact time, I checked the EXIF data, which made me realize I never changed my camera settings to local time that is 9 hours ahead).

Gianluigi in the Big GreenSeptember 20th, 2010 |
This cutie is a very good friend’s son. Photos were taken back in June, when we visited Italy last. I know, took me long enough to get to them…
I can’t wait to meet him (and my friend, of course) again, in a mere week, and see how much bigger and cuter he is now.

I love moody toddlers.

Sending me kisses. How sweet!

I’d say that for a totally unplanned session – we just met over lunch and coffee, these came out pretty great!
And this is where the photos were taken… far down this field, which happens to be Gainluigi’s grandparents’ backyard… The half overcast, half sunny weather was interesting.

Zoe’s 6 months session | Japanese Tea Garden, SFAugust 22nd, 2010 |
A sneak peek from today. Even in August, San Francisco can get chilly.

I’ve been seeing this cutie since she was 10 days old. And then again for her 3 months session. It doesn’t stop here… we have 2 more sessions (9 and 12 months) coming up!
