Klo: Thank you everyone! :) And to answer the question. While it wouldn't have been a problem for me to take the birthing pictures myself (thanks to the epidural), I had basically no time to do so because the whole delivery process was really quick. I left the taking pictures chore to my lovely husband... but my OB wouldn't have been at all surprised if I had done so myself. In the end I also chose to enjoy the moment without a lens in between.
